Bucks County Mini-Residency Program
We are committed to providing the highest quality of care for our patients and it is through continuing education that we can stay on top of the latest developments. We provide a variety of educational opportunities for our referring offices through the Bucks County Mini-Residency Program.
The primary emphasis of the study group is to provide the best in continuing education in Implant and Periodontal Dentistry. The Mini-Residency Program has been a forum for the introduction of state-of-the-art techniques and important updates on current methods.
The Mini-Residency Program is an accredited continuing education program for dental professionals including dentists, dental hygienists, assistants, administrative staff, and laboratory technicians. It was founded and is directed by Dr. Edward Marcus.
The Mini-Residency Program is a study group consisting of a select group of outstanding dentists and dental specialists who join together in the pursuit of higher learning. Their goal is to keep their professional community in the forefront of dental technology while assuring their patients the most up-to-date treatment available.
In addition to education, the program focuses on building relationships with our members and their offices. These relationships improve treatment coordination between offices to make the patient education and treatment process the most effective.
The program generally consists of six sessions, beginning in October and concluding in May.
2026-2027 Program
In this our thirty fifth year, the program kicks off with Dr. Rob Slouch, a local prosthodontist and Mr. Amish Shah, a dental lab technician presenting: “Does Precision Matter-Analog vs Digital.” Dr. Slouch is an expert in the digital world and will compare the current state of digital precision as it pertains to everyday dental practice. He will show how the implementation of digital technology into your practice enhances patient care and office efficiency. Two treatment planning sessions are scheduled which include new information from the current literature and national meetings. All members are asked to participate by reporting on an interesting article, technique, new material, or lecture they have reviewed/attended. There are two doctor-hygienist-staff meetings this year. The first evening meeting will feature Dr. Scott Peters presenting “Disease and Pathology.” Dr. Peters is a highly respected oral and maxillofacial pathologist at the Geisinger Medical Center with extensive experience. He will describe oral mucosal pathologies frequently encountered in the dental setting along with topical and systemic therapies available for management of these conditions. Dr. Peters will present on the role of soft tissue biopsy along with identifying appropriate sites for different conditions. The all day meeting features, Dr. Harshit Aggarwal (Dr. A) who will be presenting “A Whole Bunch of Shit.” Dr. A is an extremely entertaining prosthodontic speaker with extensive experience. Dr. A will cover digital, analog and problem solving topics with lots of take home pearls for your clinical practice. Your entire staff will come away from this presentation with immediately useful information to incorporate into your practice. We end the year’s program with our traditional meeting on “Failures”, where we all learn from things that went awry and share interesting office experiences.
